As many as 21 Thousand Islands Water Resources (SDA) Unit personnel cleaned up infiltration wells and biopores in RW 03, Panggang Island Urban Village, North Thousand Islands Sub-district.

Thousand Islands SDA Sub-agency Head, Hendri conveyed, her side cleaned up 2 infiltration wells and 7 biopores at RT 01, 9 infiltration wells and 6 biopores at RT 05, and 5 infiltration wells and 2 biopores at RT 06.

"We managed to collect 10 sacks full of garbage and other materials that clogged infiltration wells and biopores," he mentioned, Thursday (4/15).

This cleanup work is expected to optimize water absorption in infiltration wells and biopores in order to prevent inundation and flooding.

"After cleaning it, absorption capacity of infiltration wells and biopores will increase. Hopefully there will be no inundation when heavy rain falls," he said.
